For over two decades I’ve been immersed in creating high-end advertising photography, impactful commercial stills, and visuals for moving image productions.
Based in Manchester I’ve partnered with creative and marketing agencies as well as global brands including Pepsi Max, Universal and New Balance.
Working tightly to brief and budget for each, creating and delivering the work they need on time. My portfolio also includes celebrity portraits for commercial use, featuring figures like Yoko Ono and Johnny Depp.
But this only tells part of the story, it’s the journey that saves the work.
From a fine art foundation to photographic precision
My creative life started not with a camera, but paint and sculpture. This deep artistic grounding combined with my obsession with light, texture and emotion naturally led me to photography.
I trained rigorously on traditional film - yes, actual film - mastering the deliberate crafts of hand processing and darkroom printing.
This old-school technical foundation wasn’t about speed. It was about precision, and has shaped the approach I bring to every digital commercial photography project today. An attention to detail that makes sure everything I shoot stays high-impact across all advertising, digital and social channels.
Thriving on complex creative & technical challenges
Fast forward to now. While I shoot a wide range of subjects including portrait, product, tabletop still-life, lifestyle, fashion and interiors, an area I particularly thrive is the technically complex. Producing, delivering and directing challenging shoots often involving high-speed SFX, fire, explosions, liquids, motion, action or demanding multiple locations.
There’s a really interesting mix of very technical photographic skills with research and experimentation that I love with this type of work. It also requires an open, collaborative approach.
And when you need the perfect crew? The range of work I’ve made has left me with a vast, trusted network of high-end freelance creatives. Including art department, stylists, set design, creatives - whatever you need I can create, direct and lead a team that will get the job done perfectly. Whatever level of budget or timings you are working to, even the tight ones.

My working style is built on close partnerships. Not just with my team and the people I’m shooting, but with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Producers and clients. It’s important to make sure each voice is heard to make sure the brief and creative vision is brought to life. Finding the ways we can make the work ever better than imagined.
I bring and ego-free confidence and expertise to each job, knowing when to push creatively and when precise execution is needed. I’m a perfectionist focussed on finding the extra that elevates shots from ‘good’ to ‘damn! that’s amazing’.
